Greetings Sorors, Fellow Greeks, and Visitors,
On behalf of the Mighty Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, I would like to welcome you to our website! I am so honored to be apart of Delta Sigma Theta's legacy - a legacy that began with 22 African-American women at Howard University on January 13, 1913. Seeking an organization truly committed to public service and not finding one that fit their needs, they created a sorority founded on the principles of academic achievement and assisting those in need - principles that ring true to this day.
Rho Chapter, the 17th chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, was chartered on December 7, 1923 by four women: Carlene Alexander, Gwendolyn Bennett, Mildred Randolph-Foster, and Constance Willis. As the first undergraduate chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in New York City, these women paved the way for subsequent generations of collegiate female leaders in the city to be apart of their illustrious organization. We owe them many thanks.
This year marks the 106th anniversary of Delta Sigma Theta and the 96th anniversary of Rho Chapter. As members of this illustrious organization, we honor the past, cherish the present, and are committed to the future. Indebted to the women who came before us, we do not rest on our remarkable laurels, but rather strive to achieve and uphold our sorority's values of sisterhood, scholarship, and public service.
Thank you for visiting our website, and we encourage you to visit as often as possible to stay informed on our upcoming programming and events! Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] should any questions arise.
Warmest Regards,
